At that MSRP, I might even purchase two of them.

I wonder why they insist on the girl-pink thing. My daughter (every bit a teenage young woman) can't stand pink.I think it's to make guns more palatable to the anti gun crowd. Just my thought on that.

My daughter wants one of the pink camo ones bad. I don't want to get one since it will get handed to the boy in a few years then I'll end up buying another one!

Hehehe thomae just the opposite for my little girl...34 years old and got the pink camo on her Toyota truck, wanted/got pink handles for her carry gun and has it on her bow!! :p

It's all good. Isn't it nice that daughters are all different? I think so.
If pink camo is what she wants, (or doesn't want) it's all good with me.

Well heck, I just picked up my second Axis last week (308). If I had known they were coming out with the Axis II, I probably would have held off. O well, just another excuse to add a third one. The day they add magnum calibers (if they ever do) I will be all over a 300 Win Mag.

I wonder how long it will take Boyds' and others to make a stock for the new Axis II? Who knows, maybe it will utilize the same trigger guard and magazine catch system.

Looking at it I would guess the only change is the addition of the Accu-Trigger. Sure someone will have some word on it after the shot show though.

This may be old news, but I hadn't seen any mention of it here so figured I'd post it for those who weren't aware. At the 2014 Shot Show, Savage introduced their new Axis II XP package. The new model has the Accutrigger and an upgraded (???) scope. It is also available in Youth and Youth Muddy Girl configurations as well, and apparently the same calibers as the former Axis.

combo package scopes=a way to overcome the inherent accuracy of a weapon and give game a sporting chance of being missed. : )

Based on my experience with Weaver scopes over the last 5-6 years I think I would rather they keep offering the old $10 Simmons/Bushnell scopes on them as they've proven to hold up better.

I'd rather they just offer the gun only instead of any of the poor quality scopes that they, and most other manufacturers include in their package deals.

On a side note, I notice that so far, they're only offering the new Axis II Youth models in .243. I wonder when/if they plan to offer them in .223 & 7mm-08 also, as in the original Axis Youth models? I would assume that the original model axis' will likely be phased out before too long, unless maybe they plan to keep them as a lower cost alternative to the newer model, now that they are no longer listing the Stevens 200 on their site. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
