Finally, my Shilen .260 bull barrel showed up today from Northlander. Thanks Jim. I already had the dies, bullets, 150 weight matched .243 cases annealed, full sized, trimmed, and expanded to .260 Rem and 20 loaded shallow with 40.0gr of H4350 and 140 Nosler BTHPs. Now to put her together and find the lands, shove the bullets on in and shoot it on Friday.

The rest of the gun is a 112 VLP (.25-06 donor), EGW base, Burris Signature rings, and Nikon Monarch UCC 6.5-20x44mm. I can't wait.

This barrel is a beautiful piece of work (not my first Shilen) and it screws into the action perfectly snug. The chamber is perfect on a full sized case. The outside is flawless.

I'm excited.

Can't wait untill my fund's allow for after-market barrel's. Can't complain about result's on factory so far.

Trued the action last night, put the barrel on, glass bedded the new Northlander recoil lug in. Most of you here know this already, but this new recoil lug is perfectly flat, whereas the original was 0.005" thicker on the bottom than on the top. I'll break it in tomorrow with a few 200yd. groups and really try it out Sunday.

BTW......the 1" bull barrel fits the VLP stock barrel channel with no modification. It's close, but not too close.

First time out. I'll move out to 300yds. and try these three loads..............10 shots each............three separate targets............one at a time from each load. That way barrel fouling is less important.

I really don't care about 100yds. with this gun, but it's nice to see that it'll do it.
