Looking at getting one of these in 6.5x284. Besides the accustock what is the main differences between the two?

Well, the 11thxp is a blued short action and you wont find one in a 6.5-284. It also is a package gun with a 3-9 scope.

The 116 is a stainless steel long action with synthetic stock.

Did you look at them on the savage website at all? Very easy to see the differences.

I was mainly wondering if the bottom metal and clip would be the same or metal on the 116 and plastic on the 111. I tried calling savage but they are closed to the 6th.

I beleive the trigger guard, DBM frame assembly and bottom cap are still metal on the Savage 16/116. The Savage 11/111 Trophy Hunter does not have an Accustock. The trigger guard, DBM frame assembly and bottom cap are all plastic on the cheaper TH. Savage recently changed the Savage Trophy Hunter XP and Hunter XP stocks by molding the DBM frame assembly (surround) into the stock. THe DBM (Axis style) now latches directly to the stock.
