Is there a way to get the word Savage off of the bolt on my rifle?

Its is just acid etched. A dremel, some polishing compound and a few minutes and you can erase it pretty easy.

If you want to go fancy then you need a V block to lie the bolt in, an erasor chucked in the drill press with grinding paste on it and do a jeweling job.. Having an indexing head helps keep all the circles lined up..

I took mine off with a scotch brite pad, lightly, then polished with Flitz.

About the same as the humungous sticker that the factory put on my model 93 stock. That was my first job, to get rid of that gaudy advertisement.
