Hey guys I'm somewhat new to this forum so if this is in the wrong topic I apologize. So I recently got a savage 116 .30-06 with a synthetic stock, I don't really like the stock so do any of y'all know of a place that makes stock replacements? I am probably looking for a wood stock like the picture below, thanks ahead of time!http://cdn2.armslist.com/sites/armslist/uploads/posts/2012/04/29/384560_02_savage_model_116ss_300win_mag_640.jpg

I'd first recommend looking at Boyds' Classic or Prairie Hunter. Nice looking. $100 range. Good reviews. Always recommend pillar bedding a wooden stock. Not difficult.

If you become a paid member, you might just find what you want in the classifieds on this forum.

If it's a retail source, would you be willing to share it with the rest of the forum? I am sure there are others who would be interested as well.

Understood. Fair enough.
Hope you had a great Christmas and a greater new year.

Yep. And it was appreciated, and worked-out just as Stang intended/allowed for. I can certainly see how/why thomae would ask such a question, as well.

I know I, too, wanted to share with Charlie what Stang had done for me, and yet wondered if a newbie would even know to look for a PM from me if I did not make a post saying to look for a PM... but if I say there's a PM for him *(without explaining the nature of the PM), what would the moderators think? Kind of a vicious circle to jump into. :)
