Just bought a savage donor rifle in 22-250. Plan to replace barrel with 6brx, 6x47L, or 6 creedmoor. Will also replace synthetic stock with tacticool. Looking at weaver tactical scope. Long range shooting is addictive and savage makes it easy and affordable.

Was planning for it to be a 6BR but turns out it was another .223. My son's varmint rifle.

I don't know yet. Either a 6mm BR, .223 or .308.I need to source a receiver from other than a axis model so I can choose a target stock without having to try cutting one to fit an axis configuration.

Thinking and trying to hash out a "rimmed" version of a 20 VT or "short", necked down to 17 on a Savage Model 10 action. Will start with 256 Winchester brass and form from there. Still in the research stages.
17 VHA in the works. Got barrels, bolt head and reamer on the way.

.20 Practical, based on three factors.
1. Garbage sack full of available donor brass.
2. I am going to AI the .223, but not till I get the existing barrel shot out, because it is too sweet right now to mess with.
3. It just looks fun as heck!

6.5-284. Here it is....almost done. Waiting for acraglas gel from Brownells and a rail mounted level from midway to show up. The acraglas will be used to build my adjustable custom cheek riser.
