I broke the original at the front on the little piece that goes into the receiver. Numrich's replacement won't fit without a lot of filing. Is there anyone else that has a better part or did I get the wrong part for the savage 99F?

Might have something to do with when your rifle was made. The pre one million 99's were more well made then the post mils. They started with a bunch of stamped parts and such after 1 million and they might be different sizes. I'm thinking Numrichs gave you the wrong one.
