Same here. They're beautiful.....I should have been grabbing them when they were available.

Wish there was stuff here in PA big enough to use the 338 on. It's kind of hard on deer.....it even went through my bear long-ways.

well there are lots of elk. but first win the lottery. lol.
or you could forget big and just concentrate on long.

My first Savage rifle. Its a model 16 in 270WSM. I used JB weld and threaded steel rod to strengthen the stock and add a little extra wieght. I bedded the action using JB weld also. Added TPS steel rings and one piece base, and a Vortex Viper 6.5-20x44 scope. It's laser accurate with factory rounds, I'm hoping to get into reloading this year as well as building a Savage for my 9 year old for his first hunting rifle.

You boys have some real nice looking hardware here.

But, why do y'all always put the bolt handle on the wrong side?....

It's entertainment when a person who is right handed tries to operate the bolt of a left handed rifle.

Shooting a "left hand" action on a right hand thumbhole stock seems only natural. You wern't doing anything with your left hand anyway!

after a little tinkering and restyling to a "classic" configuration but before conversion into the .308 carbine seen above. White line spacers are made from a plastic sheetrock bucket. The fore end is ebony Min Wax stain and auto pinstripe applied prior to the clear coats. http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w188/bighonkinjeep/8e15303e-cd36-4c58-bbbb-2d5f2cf4ebab_zpsab1b9e9a.jpg (http://s176.photobucket.com/user/bighonkinjeep/media/8e15303e-cd36-4c58-bbbb-2d5f2cf4ebab_zpsab1b9e9a.jpg.html)

That's pretty darn cleaver.....I like it !! Well Done.

My kids aren't thrilled to know they'll inherit rifles that will do them absolutely no good after I'm gone.....

Here's a picture of four of my LH rifles.
Top to bottom they are;

ULA Model 20 in 6mm Remington. Wearing a Bushnell Elite 4200 3-9x40. Just over 6.5# as pictured. 24" tube.

Remington 700 KS in .270 Winchester. Early Brown Precision stocked model wearing a ridiculously heavy Vortex HS LR (for a Coues deer hunt which never materialized) in this picture. Forgot the weight and the rifle is now owned by another fine lefty. 24" tube. These IMO are the finest rifles ever produced by Remington with almost perfect ergonomics and superb balance.

Savage 116 in 6-284. This one sports a 24" 8 twist 5R rifled Rock Creek threaded nutless and chambered with a custom designed and ground reamer throated specifically for the heavyweight VLD's. Thick lug, forgot who's. 100% titanium FP Speedlock (offered for a very short time by Tubb), 5/8" Stockade BH. Custom BAS. Worked three screw. All set into a McMillan Hunter's EDGE inlet for an aluminum Rem 700 TG. Scoped with a Leupold VX-3 2.5-8x36 in S&K ringmounts.
7# 3.3 ounces as pictured.
IMO the finest lightweight Savage ever built!

Finally the jewel of my lefty collection, a LH Kimber of Oregon M84 in the ultra rare 6x47 twisted 9.5 (also ultra rare). 22" tube. Set into an MPI stock which weighs 19.3 ounces and sporting a latest model Leupold VX-2 3-9x33 Ultralight in Talley LW's.
A sweeter carrying and better pointing rifle has yet to be devised.
6# 1.7 ounces as pictured.

Oh man, I have a pile of left handed rifles....I need to get some pics loaded up so I can post pics....I think the only one I have pics loaded up are a recent build on a Remington 700 action I just finished....

This is a early 70's Remington 700 BDL left handed long action...

- 257 Roberts Ackley Improved

- 24" Lilja #3 1:10 stainless barrel with 11* target crown, barrel is bead blasted and wears a custom built to match muzzle break (and also have matching thread cap). Barrel is full free floated.

- Action is glass and pillar beded.

- Stock is a AAA Fancy Black Walnut from CRS (Custom Rifle Stocks) in PA and wears 12 coats of hand rubbed tongue oil.

- Shillen Custom trigger breaks at 2#...best trigger I have ever owned!

- Optics are currently a 6-18x50AO Swift Premier duplex reticle set in Warne rings and bases
