I have a 10FP-SR that I upgraded with a Shilen Select 6.5 Creedmoor 24" barrel. As an experiment, I thought I'd see if I could drop the action into a Hogue stock with the full length aluminum bedding block, and on top of that add an Accurate Mag short action DBM.
The Hogue stock came with the inlet for the non-Accustock Savage factory DBM, which meant there was a step in the inlet that would not allow the use of the Accurate Mag DBM (which is designed for the flat inlet on an Accustock). I pondered this for a day, then decided to see if I could modify the Hogue stock with a Dremel tool.
I used this bit:

After 15 minutes of careful cutting, I was able to flatten out the inlet and enlarge the rear of the inlet just enough to let the Accurate Mag DBM drop in. The metal cutting bit worked very well. I did use a breathing mask, as I am not a fan of inhaling aluminum dust. I also slightly relieved the front part of the stock around the barrel for better clearance.
One 1/4x28 screw later (factory rear action screw was too short for the DBM trigger guard) I ended up with this:

I torqued both action screws to 65 in/lb using a Borka wrench. It looked nice, but could it shoot?
Yep, it shoots. This is at 100 yards shooting off the bipod and a rear bag on a bench. I zeroed, then fired off the rest of a 10 round mag using 120gr Hornady factory loads.

The fore-end of the Hogue stock definitely flexes, but during normal shooting the stock does not touch the barrel so I'm guessing it won't be an issue. The rifle weighs 12lbs as pictured with a full 10-round magazine.
So far, I am pleased with this fairly inexpensive stock/DBM upgrade to the 10FP-SR. We'll see if it holds up over time!
