Question, on Boyds website they state that the Savage 93 stocks will allow the MKII .22's to fit.
has anyone done this before ?
also it says if you are to fit a MKII you need another "bottom metal"
what is this ? is it just a trigger guard and magazine plate / catch ??
cheers

Others can chime in but here is what I know. I have a Savage 93 17hmr and a Savage 93 22mag. The 22mag came in the synthetic stock, inside the stock it was marked 93fv/MkII. When going from a Synthetic stock to a Boyds laminate stock you need to call Savage and tell them what you are doing. They have a "kit" to do this, which includes trigger guard, screws, bolts, and the mag plate. You can get this in stainless or blue. Have your serial # on hand when ordering so they can make sure you are getting the right mag plates, the magnums and lr's are different. I have the exact Boyds stock that shows in the link and it is very nice. I'm waiting for scope rings and she will be all done. Hope this helps ya.
