will this base fit?

I have a savages short action in 7mm08. It came as an 11fc
im about to order a swfa 3-15x42 ffp scope and i wanted to get a base and rings at the same time.

The base doesn't mention whether it is flat bottom or round. I am assuming its round and should fit just fine, but it has some models listed that it won't fit. Those must be the flat top actions? Any reason any of this stuff won't work, other than the rings needing lapped?

That's the right base.

The link to the rings you listed is just for one ring, not a set of two (Burris sells the XTR rings individually and in sets). Also, the medium XTR rings are pretty tall and when combined with a picatinny base, will mount the scope pretty high. Unless you want the scope mounted really high for some reason, you might be better off using the low XTR rings.

The base is the right one, assuming you want a tapered 20 MOA base.

Thanks, you saved me. I would have been pissed if i had gotten them and they were way too tall. I had already placed my order and I called and changed to low rings and to a pair instead of buying 2 individuals. Saved me $5. I couldn't find the pair the other day
