OK guys,
I have spent the last few years into class 3 stuff (machineguns, suppressors, etc). I bought a Savage 10 FP in .308 (accutrigger model). The absolute best bolt rifle I've ever owned. That gave me the fever and wanted a similar rifle in .223. Looking at AuctionArms, I found a non-accutrigger Savage 110 long action in .223. The bolt is marked Savage 4x4, the barrel is marked Model 110, Cal 223 Rem.
Anyone know anything about this particular model? I should say that it is coming home to me Friday or Saturday this week.

Here's the link to the auction:

Thanks for all replies,

looks like the predecessor to that 10FP you've got. before they introduced the short action, they built everything on a long action. looks like it's got the pre-accutrigger, which may or may not be a good thing depending on your tastes, but you can always swap it out.

I have a similar rifle. It is a 90s vintage 110LH "Tactical" (there's that word again) .308 Win LE version. I've been told here that, as stated, Savage only made long actions at the time. Mine is machined so that it fits a .308 length magazine box and can't be converted to a longer cartridge without some expensive machine work. That's not a problem for me as it prints .40" three shot groups with 168SMKs.

Based on the price of the auction, was this a good deal on a non-accutrigger model?
Auctionprice was $419.08

I would say that price is a little much. I got three rifles from Auction Arms and the most I paid was $219 for three 110's staggerfeed, internal magazine models.
