My son has been saving for a deer rifle. He has enough to get one now.

For his money, he can either get a new Stevens or an older non-accutrigger 110. Same price. Stevens has polymer stock. Savage is wood. Otherwise I think it's exactly the same rifle. He likes the polymer stock.

Is there any reason to pick one over the other? I don't think so, but maybe I'm missing something.

Thanks.

Jbo

I think he should choose the one "He" wants. He saved his money, and the decision should be one He can live with. Only great difference, in my book is wood or plastic. The "bug" will probably bite him and he'll turn it into whatever he wants later anyway! ;-)

Is the 110 new old stock or used ? If it's N.O.S. I'd opt for the 110. If used I'd go with the Stevens. Just my $.02. If the Stevens is a center feed, I'd pass, as I don't like the center feed rifles at all.

The 110s priced the same are used, excellent condition guns.

My prefereance would be the stevens as I prefer the availability of 4.40 spacing stocks they are essentially the same rifle

good point. By new stevens I was assuming it is a centerfeed.
