How do you think the 6BR will be for deer hunting
compared to the standard 6 mm.....What distance
and bullet do you think would be the best choice?:biggrin-new:

fORGOT TO ASK---what savage action,should I use
so the ammo will work in the magazine or clip..?

I use a 6brx in a 15 3/4" striker. 105 amax at 2700 does a great gob on deer. You should be able to get that speed from a standard be with a rifle barrel. As for feeding I load single on a follower.

Savage made a 6BR DBM rifle ; of course it is a 4.4 SA ; the mag boxes and followers are identical (to my eyes) to the 223 except the mag box lips are spread out a bit.
If you search there are still 6BR DBM mags out there for sale but maybe not for long as I think Savage has discontinued them ? These have a silver base plate.
You should be able to do a ADL style setup by buying the box and follower from the Savage store.

Sorry to ask but what's the follower?

that would be a fish that follows a lure but wont strike.

The follower is the metal or plastic "thing" in the magazine that is between the cartridges and spring. It aligns and pushes up on the bottom cartridge to help the magazine feed properly.
