does anyone on here now where I can buy a savage 11 or 10 short action for around $2-300 bucks at? Does midway or the gunshack sell anything like this? Im wanting to build a 204ruger with a cbi barrel with a 1 in 11 twist and want to build with that action. Any info would be great thanks.

If you were a paid member you could look for one on here. You could try gunbroker or even your states hunting forum. What state are you in?

Ive heard stories of people having a hard time building off the savage edge/axis actions. Would I be better to go with a savage 11 action or a stevens 200 short action opposed to the edge/axis?

You will have more "aftermarket" choices with Savage/Stevens.

I agree with that for now...
i see the Axis/edge market opening up as the user base grows. In the last month I've seen new stocks available, and talk of extended magazines. Time will tell what more becomes available, but for right now, the Savage/Stevens platform is the way to go.
