Savage model 93 22 mag. age by serial number

Can anyone tell me when a model 93 22 mag serial number 953251 was made? thanks Danny

I'm going to say probably 2007 or 2008. Savage uses a totally different S/N system for the rimfires as they're made in Canada and not MA, and they don't use the letter prefix. I have one here the I got new from Savage (review gun) in May of 2005 with a 422XXX serial number, and I know back then they were making 220-230k rimfire rifles a year so it's just a matter of doing the math...

953,000 - 422,000 = 531,000

531,000 / 220,000 = 2.413

2005 + 2.4 = 2007.4
