Savage model 24J-DL

I am thinking about buying a 24J-DL. It has the satin reciever and the gold trigger. Inside the rails is stamped I G 2 9. It is also stamped on the barrell. I know it is pre 68 because it has no serial number. Can anyone help tell me when it was made?

Those sound like assembly marks to me. See if you can find a small oval with a number and a letter stamped inside it.
