Actually they didn't you just have to specail order from custom shop.
1-800-370-0709 ext. 6 ask for Effie Sullivan she will take care of what you want, then have your FFL order it.
She did a 7mm rem. mag. for me about 5 months ago.

Guys, any idea on what dealer cost is on a custom FLP? I called Effie to see about a 25/06 FLP to replace one I had stolen but she would only tell me suggested retail.

Thanks,

Brad

Brad, they do that so as to not undercut the FFL holders.

BTW, as a point of interest; what did she quote you as MSRLP?

I believe it was like $809 or $829. I just hated to bother a dealer and Savage staff again if it wasn't something I was willing to pay. I stopped by a FFL today and he is going to check into it for me.

Pinus,I had the Savage Custom Shop assemble a 110FLP 25/06 several months ago.My dealer charged me around $750 for it.
It was assembled with a 111 barrel,Savage doesn't have any 110 barrels left in stock so it will be 22" instead of 24". The one on my rifle had some bad tooling marks throughout the rifling, and copper fouls really bad. Savage also didn't tell me that the barrel would be a 111 series instead of a 110 series,so I was surprised when it arrived, but for what I'll be using it for it'll work fine.
After working on the barrel for several months-Handlapping the barrel,Polishing the barrel, and finally loading up a set of Tubb's Final Finish bullets,I finally have it shooting pretty good and not fouling so bad.

If I had to do it over,I'd just build one on my own with a custom barrel. It would probably cost about the same, maybe less.

Why not build one yourself. $800 will build a Savage 25-06 with a Shilen or McGowan barrel. As a bonus, you can get the 26" barrel (or longer) that a 25-06 needs to really shine.

Thanks for the info. I actually found and bought a right handed model a couple weeks back which was pre-accutrigger. If anyone is interested, its short notice but here is one on gun broker I found this morning: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=192564215
