Hi All,

Do you know if Savage ever produced a production small shank wsm barrel?

Do you know if there is a reason why they went to large shank?

Does anyone make small shank barrels for a savage action?

Yes, Yes and Yes. First run WSM barrels were small shank. Later changed for reasons known to Savage. Any barrel vendor can make you one in small shank.

Probably 300 first 7MM second and 270 last. I think thats the order Winchester put them out but thats really wild @$$ guess. Pretty sure my WSM's have a G prefix and are "pre Accutrigger" large shank. Not home right now to check the numbers.

I just sent out a really nice 7mm-300wsm small shank interupted fluted ss Brux barrel. Some places I don't think they make them but most do.

I think most except ER Shaw will make them on the small shank.
