I saw some 5.56 about 10 years ago. It didn't sell very well back then. I'm not going to pay $40 for 20. I like my handloads better. If someone gave me some, I'd try it .

I'm thinking this type my have something to do with the GREENING of the Military, and the price between the Polymer and brass cases

Due to weight, it seems like it might hold the most promise as a military thing for specialized units who need to cut every ounce they can.
