Hey Guys! It's been quite a long time since I've been on here...gotta question. I ordered a Burris fullfield II 3-9x40 from optics planet. My model 111 (used-new to me) came without bases or rings, the local sporting goods shop, has weaver bases (alum) and leupold med. rifleman rings....get them or are there better maybe nicer? rings or bases? Its 30 for that combo.... Should I go one piece base? Or dnz reaper ring/base all in one? I want the most reliable. But don't want or like quick detach/giant knobs or screws. Thanks so much, all comments appreciated!! Josh

Also noticed that each half of rifleman rings don't touch when screwed together?? Are they supposed to?

They are supposed to have a gap.

thanks, i didnt like the gap look, so I returned them, and ordered a dnz one piece game reaper.

I have DNZ's on all my rifles and really like them. I have a Savage mdl 11 combo coming and the first thing I am going to do is put DMZ rings on it. It comes with a Nikon scope so I have not decided to keep it or not but the mounts will go.

The DNZ is an order of magnitude better than an aluminum Weaver base and chintzy Rifleman rings.

The new DNZ two piece ringmounts look nicer than the great Talley Liteweights but I haven't tried them.

Except for on my uber-light rifles (6# scoped and loaded) I use the superb S&K system. There isn't a stronger, lighter, or better looking choice out there than S&K.
