Went out and shot some today. First time in awhile.

The target for my .308 Stevens 200 (Totally stock with 3x9 scope):

The range (340 yds, zoomed in all the way with my poverty camera):

I kept the rest simple to imitate actual hunting conditions. Standing with a bag under the front.

The results. 9/10 shots on target. There is one hiding under the left side you can't see. Would have been 10/10 but I put the second shot right because I thought the first shot went left.

Overall pretty happy. It's not sub-moa grouping, but it wasn't a sub-moa rest, or a sub-moa gun. I'm confident in my ability to put an effective shot on a whitetail at 350yds.

Did a comparison too. 9mm FMJ on the left, 9mm Hydra-Shok on the right.

Now, how do you think that poor pumpkin feels. You should at least respect the fact it gave it's life for your shooting betterment & pleasure.

But it is fun, though.
I like gallon plastic jugs of water filled to the top, capped tightly & pop off a round from my beloved '06. Gotta try punkins sometime.

We shoot pumpkins for Halloween and hard boiled eggs on Easter. A lot of fun for sure. The egg tradition started about 3 years ago when my wife failed to completely boil two dozen eggs. They were decorated then on Easter the whole family goes in the backyard with 22's and makes them blow up.

That's cool SS, fun stuff with a purpose. My kinda shooting. It does show you what you are capable of at 350y. Like your ingenuity in a more "real time" scenario. Nothing wrong with paper punching and 1/2 moa but I sure enjoy things reactive, tannerite comes to mind. 2 of my favorite things, shooting and blowing things up at the same time.

I have hydrashocks in a PF9 I carry when I can't pack the 1911 45acp. Excellent round for a 9. Cool test too!:p

Old time front stuffer shooters would shoot gourds on a string at get togethers, very common target back then.

I like jugs of water too, also pop cans of water. Pistols, rifles, anything. Beretta semi 12 ga once with slugs at 1/2 gal jugs. Impressive!

Eggs? Yarr! I like em raw on a golf T at 100 yards, 22lr. Hit em low the yolk flies 10 feet in the air. Used to get flats 2.5 or 3 doz a buck. Hard boiled? Hmmm, never tried shooting at them but fired a pickled egg out of a smaller bore tater gun (that was my magnum tater gun). Sploded soon as it left the barrel, a mess, stunk :(.

In "off topic" Ace was looking for fun targets for a 22 shoot, help a fellow out if you got a chance and fun ideas. I mentioned a couple.

If you like to see stuff blow apart, cut a small hole in the top of the pumpkin and fill it with water. You only get to shoot it once but once is enough. Pumpkin goes every where.

The first time I shot a pumpkin I was disappointed because it didn't blow apart. Then I realized it didn't have enough stuff inside it to make it blow apart. So I filled it with water and got the result I was looking for.
