Well today I finally was able to get out to the range with the 12FV 22-250. Was doing a barrel break in and once we got up to about 20 rounds down rage here is what she printed,
Well OK I can't attach an image of the target but the 3 shot group was .267". I am very pleased.

Is savage still using a 12 twist on the 22-250s? I think that is an asset over most other makers using the 14, more acurate with more bullet choices.

Yes, at least on some. My 12FV is a 1:12 twist.

I am thinking about chambering a 1-9 .223 barrel to .22-250.

At 22-250 velocities that would spin the bullets REALLY fast. Could be too much for some bullets.

My 22-250 is a 9" twist and LOVES 75 grn A-max bullets. Being as they aren't being made right now I'm shooting 69 grn Matchkings with excellent results. My next one will me a 7" or 8" twist with long throat specifically for the 80 A-max.
