I will soon have built a Savage Model 12 Target rifle (in a6mm Norma BR) with an original Savage F-Class stock on it and I am wondering ifanyone can guide me towards procuring a nice/practical cheek rest and perhaps arecoil pad that would fit this stock snuggly. Thank you and happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

I just this minute, gave a negative review on a web site for an ACC-RISER cheek rest. (I don't think I can mention where). So I can tell you which one not to get, LOL.

Recommend Karsten or Choate. Are you willing to drill holes in the stock for installation? Otherwise you're restricted to slip on/strap on types. I prefer something that can't move around or change over time.

Wolf, my research thus far narrowed down those two as well. I think I will be willing to drill some holes...I wasslightly uneasy about that thought but if it’s the only option I will accommodatethat. Karsten has the two models...one has the bolt going across the other hasthe little "adjusting wheels". Would those be in the way? Also Ifound this http://www.midwayusa.com/product/365494/choate-ultimate-sniper-and-varmint-stock-cheek-rest-tall-synthetic-black (http://www.midwayusa.com/product/365494/choate-ultimate-sniper-and-varmint-stock-cheek-rest-tall-synthetic-black)
I don't know how high this is and after is on does not have any margin foradjustment. However, I thought that if you could slip a little shim under inthe first place and you can get it to where you like it, perhaps it will work.

The high choate is quite tall.

I only need their regular one with a 56* objective an leupold medium tactical rings.
