I reciently bought a 1895 commarative chambered in .308 and it shoots well but when cycling the action the cartridges seem to hang up on the front edge of the case. It does this with both factory and my reloads. When I examined it, there appears to be a ridge (that I assume is the back of the barrel) all around the back of the chamber and the case mouth seems to be hanging on the bottom of that ridge. Is there a cure?

I'd have a smith look at the ridge, might just need a magic hand. I wouldn't try filing it down myself in case you damage the barrel somehow but should be an easy fix for a gunsmith.

1895 "commemorative" always sticks in my craw. Those guns aren't even close to the real 1895's, different length barrel, chambered in a cartridge that wasn't even made yet. Pure marketing ploy on Savages poor judgement, one of the dumbest things I've ever seen them do.
