Anyone else use one action and swap between barrels? I'm not talking about a plain out conversion. I have a .308 I built off a varmint action and I'd like to try a .243 AI as well. I can get a .243AI varmint barrel for around $340. I don't want to give up the .308 for good just try the 243 for varmint shooting and swap back when I'd like to shoot the 308. Anyone?
People do it all the time.

If you like it you will end up buying another action.

I am going to have this setup between the 243AI and a short barrel 308. But like said also your going to want another action, I know I do! Being a lefty I'm kinda cursed on this I end up buying a new $700 rifle to tear into.

I do it often. That is one reason many of us are "Brothers of the Barrel Nut".

On that note what are you guys thoughts with a longer barrel say 26" to 30" for the 243ai? I have the 24" varmint on my 308 right now and I love it. Like I said I'm thinking of groundhog shooting out west. Too long or just right?

Coming from a guy who has some experience in mid range shooting at paper but none in hitting varmints an a windy prairie....More weight, more speed and more opportunities for barrel harmonics.
