I have never built one but there are the European rimmed cartridges with a diameter very close to a magnum that may be able to be used......9.3x74; 9x57 Mauser.....those types.

I had contemplated a 9.3x74 at one time awhile ago but the 375 Ruger got my attention and was built instead. Still going to build a 9.3x74 but I'm going to do it on a break open single shot at some point.

If I am not mistaken, the issue with the Savage bolt and rimmed cartridges is MORE on the feeding issue. I believe (I might be wrong) the bolt will hold the cartridge, if the proper size.

I shot a Swift for quite a while. It is semi-rimmed. It fed fine, just had to be careful when loading the magazine. Top rim in front of the previous.

Savage never designed the 110 to work with rimmed cartridges. Even the semi-rimmed .220 swift is head spaced on the shoulder and was only offered in a single shot.
Just about every rimmed cartridge has a very similar rimless counterpart, and in most cases better.
