Hey guys I picked up a good deal on a "used" savage axis. I need to put a mount on it for hunting season. I have rings I hope I can reuse. Im wondering what I need for bases though? Ive seen some for that say weaver 46 bases work but then I see a lot of places are selling one piece bases. Any help would be great.

I would go with a egw one piece base.

I run the 20MOA EGW on mine.

Because all Axis actions are long action length, it can be tough to properly position a more modern, shorter scope with two piece mounts. This is why many people, use a full length rail. I use an EGW rail on mine.
I use EGW and also Weaver. The Weaver is similar to the EGW (full length) and it's lower. It's the same height as the 2 piece #46s.....
