I just got a call from Richard's Microfit stocks. Their getting ready to inlet my new stock and wanted to verify that it was DBM. Then she asked if it was a bottom MAG release, to which I said yes. Now I'm concerned that she may have meant to ask if it's a bottom BOLT release. She said that some of the older models had a mag release on the side. I've heard of a side bolt release on older models, but I've never heard of a side MAG release.
Can anyone please verify that some older Savages had side MAG releases?
Never mind. My bad. A search brought up an article on the various mag systems Savage has used. I now see what a side mag release looked like. I guess the folks who do this everyday know what their doing.
