Hey all,
Got a buddy who wants to use Magnum in his 7mm RM. I have had pretty good results with it in my 300WM but know nothing about the 7mm. Told him I would see if anyone here could help. Has anyone used it with good/bad reports in the 150-160g bullet range
Thanks
Pig

Not to be rude, but why don't you ask your buddy to join and he can then ask the question for himself?
That way, yes, we get another member, but also he gets the information directly, not through a third party.

Just a thought.

He doesn't have a nut.Ok, I guess I'm officially an old geezer because I have absolutely no idea what that last post meant. I don't have any experience with 7mm magnum so I can't answer the question. My response about having your friend join the forum was entirely serious.

I think he's referring to his rifle isn't a Savage. Have you referenced several reloading manuals for starting and maximum loads?

Right, not Savage and yes, manuals that have quite a bit of grainage fluxuation especially looking at Ramshot's data compared to Sierra (my go-to manual). He is not looking for a shortcut, only to hear from someone who has tried it in the 7MM and how it performed compared to the go-to proven powders that he can't find for velocity and accuracy. I am willing to sell him a pound of my Magnum but I am un-willing to tap my jug of RL22!

I found for my 300 that real world results on the net were all over the place for Magnum. I did a lot of testing with it and it did very well in a give and take kind of way. Some of the best velocity per bullet weights that I have seen but accuracy does suffer a bit compared to slower more accurate loads using 4350's, 4831's and RL22.
Thx!

Me thinks you should be worked over pretty hard for this!
