99 ??

My father in law gave me his 99 savage. I would like to know the year made and approx. value. Serial # 571262 it has a counter on right side, it also has a small compass inlaid on top of butt stock (not sure if this is factory or an add on) in 300 savage with a 24" barrel. I would say about 80-90% It also has a weaver k2 with flip scope mounts. Also are they hard to take apart and clean or should this be done by a smith? Are Manuel's available yet and where to get them? Thank you

It was made in 1950.

Real easy to clean, take the buttplate off and then the buttstock. You can get at mostly all the i nternals from there without having to take it apart.
