Guys,
I'm interested in a Boyds Tacticool stock based on all the comments, but wondered if any of you have carried this stock as a hunting gun rather than a bench or prone shooter? I struggle to find stocks in the Savage world that offer an upgrade from the tupperware and yet maintain the hunter feel and fit when walking to hunt yotes, deer, hogs..... Comments?

There are a lot of other options, even at Boyds. Tacticool is not necessarily best as a sporter, but no worse, in my opinion, than any others of that type. Have you looked at the Prairie Hunter and Classic, among others, at Boyd's?

Also, check out Richard's Microfit Stocks. They make a lot of various options, one I am considering is the Dual Thumbhole Stock. They are not finished, but relatively inexpensive and can modify standard configurations such as: left hand stock/right hand action.
