I'm considering a 204 Ruger on a 25" Heavy Sporter barrel for a "walking" varminter. I was wondering if anyone else has gone this route yet? I'd love to see some photo's of your heavy sporter set-ups.

I have one with a CBI 20" heavy sporter on it. I will try to get some pictures of it and post them up.

This is one setup with a 22" mag sporter in 338F.

IIRC as you see it plus 3 rounds and sling ready to hunt weighs just a few ounces over 9 lbs. I could probably shave a pound off give or take with a different stock and Weaver bases - rings.

How much does your heavy sporter weight? Just the barrel, and finished weight.

What stock are you using trailrider? I am wanting to build a 257 Roberts with a mag/heavy sporter barrel but am having a hard time finding a suitable stock?

I've had three, one remaining in .221fb on a cz is 24" and too heavy on the front end. Of the others, the only one that carried well was in 20" imo.
