Does a B/C Medalist Tactical need to be bedded?

I would do it, at the very leased the actions have some warpage. Also I believe the stock bedding area is a casting and not machined. On mine the recoil lug area was pretty rough too. If you coat the bottom of your action with prussian blue and install it in the stock you will be able to determine how much contact area you have. If you haven't done a bedding job before, Darrel Holland has a very good video that you can rent from Smartflix.

+1 on what Skunce said. Holland's video's are very informative, you can learn alot and then some especially if they are watched twice.

I would suggest that you check the top of your action also. I believe that the actions are polished by hand on a belt sander. Mine wasn't even close to being flat, with lots of taper at the front and rear. I bedded the EGW one piece base that I used also to prevent distortion when the base was tightened.

I did not bed mine. Maybe I got lucky. My 10FP shoots sub half inch 5 shot groups at 100y. I am not sure that bedding it would make any difference.

I bed ALL of my stocks.

Even stocks like this/similar, allow movement of the action in the stock under recoil. Would you want to use a tool that is not perfect or as close to perfect as you can make it?
