150gr loads for 7mm rem mag.

Hey guys looking for info or input on a new load for my rifle as lighter loads haven't been adequate enough in the past for me. They were to quick velocity and not penetrating enough. I picked up some bullets for my model 110 and like to see what others are using for medium to heavy loads. For my 7mm rem mag the powders I have on hand currently are imr 4350, 4831 and some newer Hyprid 100V I know the first two are more well known powders but just thought I would ask what others may have used to success.

Have used all three of the powders you have but all-in-all I would go with either IMR4831 or H4831 as a starter.

I've used the IMR4350 but have also used IMR7828.

IMR7828 was made for the 7mm Rem Mag and works great for bullets 150gr and heavier.

Which out two fills the case out fuller imr 4831 or 7828 ? And would the specific one that did be better or hold slightly higher velocity as well.

I can't speak for the 4831, but 7828 fills the case really well. Get great velocity. As said too, when the 7mm RM was designed, the powder they used was the 7828. It really pushes the 7mm RM 150gr and heavier really well and I've always gotten great great accuracy.

I use it (7828) for Hornady 154gr RN and 162gr BTSP and A-Max.

I only use the IMR4350 for the Hornady 139gr BTSP and great amazing accuracy with it. .250 MOA at 100yd with it.

I did not originally know of the 7828 being used for 7mm rem mag. My initial loads I originally used were with 4350 and some 120's I picked up at local gun show and they were a match from the beginning but velocity causes them to be to explosive even with a mild load.

From your advise given I may have to pick up a pound them look up what the min/max load data to get a start. I'll hang on to the 4831 for a while and use it when I start loading for the 270 if I ever get around to it someday.
