The other two have Mcgowen varmit barrels,B&C stocks, and rifle basics triggers and they shoot sub m.o.a. this one shoots 1 inch. These rifles are perfect for me as I can upgrade them as I go. There affordable and they have the Savage blood line.

If your .308 has sub MOA accuracy and your 30-06 makes 1" groups, At what distance would the 30-06 out shoot the .308?

Gotta love the Stevens line. Best way to get into the savage addiction for a fair price.

I was assuming that handirifle was asking where was the claim that the 30-06 would outshoot the .308 at a certain distance made.
It wasn't made on the post but I thought it was just a well known fact.

I attribute the increased accuracy of my .223 and 308 to the 24" Mcgowen varmit contour barrels and the rifle basix triggers those rigs are sporting. My oughty still has the factory sporter on board and I havnt put a trigger upgrade in the oughty. But after I do upgrade my 30.06 I would bet the house that it too will shoot sub m.o.a.

It would be interesting to see the performance of the three rifles at different yards to see where the different rifles do best.
You can look at theoretical data but real world results would be more interesting.
