Some people say the Axis is not a very good-looking rifle. Mine is drop-dead gorgeous, so I have no idea what they are talking about. : )

Would you be willing to share how you did the camo job?

Very fancy and high-tech: I went to Ace hardware and bought a few cans of budget spray camo paint (though any flat paint will do) around 6 bucks each and a couple of sponge edger type brushes (about 25 cents each). Sprayed a base coat of dark green --a few blobs of tan--and then using the edger brushes I sprayed a couple of pools of light beige paint into a dish and used the edger to "smear" the limb effects. When dry, I coated the entire job with satin damar varnish. Not that tough--but it's lasted over two years so far and at around $20.00--I'm happy. : )
