Is the savage model 11 in .223 a short action rifle? I believe the answer is yes. Question two is the firing pin spring the same as the 110 model?

Reason for asking I shoot 5.56 ammo of Chinese decent and due to the heavier NATO spec primer cups I get some light hits. Stock spring is 28lbs and the choice is 32 or 36lb. Anyone else have any experience with this?

I dont want to hear the .223/5.56 debate, I bought this rifle to shoot cheap Chinese mil spec bulk ammo.

Don't get your panties in a wad. The answer is no, there are not the same. The stock spring is not 28 lbs, it's 24, assuming it has the full length spring. It may have the new 3 pc. spring and 1 pc. firing pin found in the cheaper rifles. If that is the case you are shoot something other than chinese junk.

Sorry, I didn't mean to start anything. Infractions for asking a question ? Wow I guess I stepped in that one.

It's a sordid subject around here that's been hashed out to death and back more times than we'd care to recall. Hence the sticky.

RP12,

My apologies to you...you're new,and didn't know any better....... I had a bad day plus a subject that nearly always ends up in a MAJOR argument and I over reacted trying to put out the fire before it even got started.

I jumped on you publicly so I'm apologizing publicly as well as sending you a PM.

Model 11 is a short action,110 is a long action,so I don't think they would be interchangeable. Not sure about the poundage.
