Some before and after shots, I loved the realtree camo pattern but this comes close enough and WOW what a difference (: Did need some tweeking with a Timney Trigger set up FYI. And I swapped the strap and bipod after the pic incase someone was wandering..

Y'all have some pretty sharp looking rigs. All the paint schemes look great too.

For those with the Boyds, how do you like them? Has anyone been able to do some range testing with them?

Finally got one put together (thinking either 260 or 6.5x55 for my other).

.308 (Originally 7mm-08)
20" Factory Varmint (Originally 24. Cut, crowned, and fluted by RWS, per original owner)
Weaver 3-15x50
Leupold rings
Warne rail
Boyds Prairie Hunter (Barrel channel opened, barrel floated)
10 round custom Axis mags
Large bolt knob (Bolt will be fluted soon)
GG&G Bipod
Accu-trigger (Crisp, but still working to get it lighter).

Better representation of the stock color.

Who did the paint job? It is awesome. What type of scope and bipod? That's a great looking rifle. http://i981.photobucket.com/albums/ae296/thejazzyonej/IMG_0329_zps94f8a587.jpg (http://s981.photobucket.com/user/thejazzyonej/media/IMG_0329_zps94f8a587.jpg.html)[/QUOTE]

I did the paint...green/brown base colours, green on brown/brown on green sponged, then some khaki and black sponges on top of those. bi-pod is a cheap Blackhawk and the scope is a cheap Centre Point. This gun started off as a cheap set-up to teach my son to shoot but, turned out to be a great little shooter. I bet if I bedded the action and got new glass...this thing would shoot with the $1500 rigs.

here is a better look at the paint scheme on the old stock stock...did the same scheme on the Boyds though...

I did one very similar on a Stevens years ago. I used the same process. People would ask me where did I get that camo job done and if they could get one done. Easy as pie and customizable/tunable to your hunting area and conditions.

Yeah...that pattern works really well in any environment...just use appropriate colour schemes for your area...
