The tacticool is laminate.

I thought maybe it was. I see Midway has unfinished versions and they sure do look wooden.

The one i ordered from Midway was a wood laminate. I'm 90% sure the black ones are the same...there's a thread in another forum where a guy sanded down a black one and it was definitely laminate underneath

The Tacticool stock I got from midway was an unfinished laminate stock.

Update:Well, I stripped the wood with a screw. Oops. I drilled it out yesterday and plug it up with new wood and job weld.

Installed the 1 piece rail mount. No bedding needed, there was no play at all.

Still waiting on the dip bottom metal

some pics and tools needed, you'll need a drill too.

Now Im confused. I was about to order the bottom plate for wood stock, part# 13030. Right before I ordered it I received an e-mail from DIP support telling me I would need the part# 13015 which is for a plastic stock. bloodhawke, you're stock looks identical to mine. Would you please tell me the part you ordered? Thanks so much.

13014 MKII "E" Receiver Bottom Metal for wood stocks

Thanks, I was debating between that and 13030, until I received that e-mail. I think I'm back on track now. Thanks again.

They are super fast getting your parts to you. The plate sticks up a little, dont know if Ill fool with inlaying it down any. The one thing is the wood screw seems to be a little narrower than the original, which will barely catch the wood now. Any ideas other than plugging and re-drilling. Thanks.

No ideas...i was going to use an old guitar repair truck and glue a couple of toothpicks into the hole. Break them off even with the surface, and you're done.

Instead of toothpicks, can you use wooden matches? Or better yet, what about golf tees? I once read...somewhere....golf tees are made of a harder wood material.

Thinking about drilling 3/16 hole and using a dowel.

I didn't like the cheap wood screws in the stock and the wood was too soft to hold a screw tight so I replaced them with these inserts. You can get them from Amazon.

Thanks Bsqrd, might check into that. What size screw did you get the insert for? It wouldnt be a wood screw.

Think I used a 6-32 under the Bottom Metal. Also used epoxy to hold it in, there is not much wood there for the insert.

I find Wolf and Eley to be great brands of ammo. I must have 10 different brands and models of 22 LR ammo.

Just measure your bottom metal. It's not hard to figure out.

"The only other difference is in the stocks inletting. The plastic stocks are inletted with a bottom metal cover for the magazine well that is about 4 1/4" long while the wood stocks are about 3 3/4" long regardless of caliber."

I used Eley Club for this 15 round 50 yard group. It took 4 rounds to get adjusted at 50 yards.

This was Eley team, 10 round 50 yard group: 2 misses were my lack of concentration?

CCI is not as tight. Federal bulk is erratic with respect to elevation and windage. Remington is more erratic. Thunderbolts are totally inconsistent.

My Mark II prefers CCI Blazers, but I also get flyers that shouldn't be there. First time I heard of replacing the bottom metal, but I'll give that a try. If the barrel is free floating (mine is) what do you bed? Never tried this either, but I'll try almost anything once.

Where did the OP go? he has two posts since joining and both are in this thread.

To all the guys with 93/MKII with accutriggers I highly recommend you try the Apachee trigger kit.

When you say "bottom metal", are you talking about the metal part that holds the magazine? Why does changing this plate affect accuracy?
