270 recoil pad

So I have a 270 axis and I'm excited for the new Boyd's stocks to come out tomorrow. Anyway, I was wondering how bad you think the recoil will be if I opt for the standard half inch rubber recoil pad as opposed to the 1" pachmayr one for 30 bucks more. I'm 5'9" and about 230 and currently have no problems at all with the factory recoil pad.

I shot a 270 and thought recoil was less than my 308. I usually don't get sore unless I put 100 or more rounds down range in a day though. It’s definitely less forgiving in a laminate stock though.
