Apache,

Do you neck down to 25 in one step or do you step them down with different dies before reaching 25? I have never tried to neck down brass before and would like to know what I need to do for success :) Lapua brass would be my go to if I could manage to do the necking without any issue, other than neck turning.

I hit mine with a 270 die first.

Thanks Blue Avenger. What do you use on your case as far as sizing lube? I normally use Imperial Sizing Die Wax. Do you resize the insides of the necks or just trim the exterior, if required, after resizing them down to 25 caliber?

I do the same as Greg does with a 270 die. I always neck turn my brass for uniformity but it isn't necessary.

I started buying .270 Win Brass as Outlawkyote mentioned somewhere. The 270 brass last so much longer than the 25-06 brass and I have no idea why. It's also nice as the .270 brass is a little big longer in the neck area so you can trim it to your desired length as some of the 25-06 stuff ends up short after fireforming. I need to order up some of that lapua brass, I have been eye balling it for a while now :o

Outlawcoyote the competition I was shooting was Varmint Silhouette deal with prerie dogs at 175yds Jackrabbits @ 220 Woodchucks @ 330yds and coyote's @ 412yds. Believe me when I say I very rarely had to worry much about the wind with that cartridge. I shot perfect scores with it before they outlawed it because of the muzzle brake. Then they outlawed it again when they said I was tearing up the targets with 95gr Noslers . Bunch of babies if you ask meLOLOLOL.

At the other end of the spectrum I won the pistol class at the same shoot with a 223 shortened to 1.5 in with a case capacity of 19gr shooting a 52gr bullet @2950fps. It was built on a remington action and it will shoot .2 groups with said load all day. The only problem was you had to hit those coyotes in the top 4 in or they wouldn't fall over.

So now I built a 6br like the rest of the conformists and will just have to beat them at their own game.
