I ordered the same stock. Posts some pictures when you get it in, I'm curious to see how it looks.

I got mine last week but It appears that I received a prototype. The bolt release lever can't be pushed down far enough to release the bolt. I think the inlet is too deep at the rear of the action. Other than that the stock looks and fits the barrel perfectly, a great improvement over the plastic stock.

Lol, I just realized that you saw this pic in the pictures thread!

Hmmm, didn't try to remove my bolt yet. Better check that.

That's a sharp looking rifle you've got Alleycat! I like the pepper with the stainless!

It was a meaty part towards the front of the trigger guard by where the magazine sits. jhawk60 on the timney trigger there is a set screw to adjust the trigger release depth to the sear? at the front of the trigger assembly that isn't on the stock trigger and sticks down about 1/8" or so with a tiney lock nut and just needed a smidge more room and there was a lot of material where I drilled just a little out to make room for it in the trigger guard. Once back together you can't see it and it didn't affect anythings function or strength. I flipped the strap and bipod after the pic, worked better that way (: Now just need to find a screaming deal on some quality optics for my next feel good purchase, this one works but it's fussy about the eye relief.

Yip, me too. Now picture that Pepper in FT Thumbhole, which what is on its way to me. I'm sticking with the black trigger guard as the scope, rail, mag and suppressor are all black anyway.

This is my Axis in .308 bench rested at 35 yards 4 rounds, bench rested with Simmons Pro Sport cheap scope. Groups are deer accurate. Winchester Super X white box 150 grain just sighting in. This is in the plastic stock.

This is in the Boyds stock, bench rested at 65 yards, again, sighting in. Everything is the same but the stock. The 1st shot was high and left again, 2nd and third making sure it wasn't me flinching. 4th shot, adjusted just a hair, and getting there.

But look how tight that 2nd and 3rd rounds were together at 65 yards in this stock. Measured less than 1/4 inch at 65 yards on the bench. It really seems to tighten the groups up a little.

I'm going to tweak this budget setup tomorrow and I know 65 yards is not much to most people, but that is very promising for a bubbafied kitchen setup. I will post results after me and the boy get out and get a doe for his youth season :).

I have to say, these are the low-buck briefings I love,

Pics, results, perfect

My imagination conjured up quite an image, sitting @ your kitchen table, all comfy, shooting out the window.

Nice job - good luck to your son

My replacement has arrived. Fitting and testing sometime this week.

Anyone know the torque settings for a laminate stock?

Cheers

Jas

Thank you Boyds

I ordered a "classic nutmeg" - I'm often old school

It was "in stock" and came in about a week - nice

I'd love to show pics, but will not use url linked to my computer (I'm a touch paranoid)

However, it's nicer than expected for a cnc stock, I like the feel better than my composite

The fit was snug, tho' I slid a paper towel between stock & barrel

The finish is smooth while not slippery, (I anticipated some 0000 steel wool) - VERY NICE

THANK YOU RANDY
