Fondled a 220F today. First time I actually handled one. Feels and handles like a rifle, light and quick to the shoulder. I think I'm going back tomorrow night and grab it.
Picked up a brick of CCI 200's while i was there for 30 bucks. A bit of a sting but better than some of the horror stories I have been hearing.

Screw it! I'm going back and get tonight! ;D

You buyin me one too?
You bringin it to the shootout so we can see/shoot it?

Tanners Guns in Buckingham PA. 495 out the door, camo. Didn't have enough cash for 2 or I would have gotten you the black one. 30 bucks less for the black.
Explained that this is like the last one on the east cost and if I miss out on it we may never have venison meatloaf or steak sandwiches again. I think they almost bought the argument untill my daughter mentioned the "Dad is buying dinner or no deal". Had to take the wife and kids to Outback. I think I came out ahead.

I think we need an extended mag, 4 shot would be cool with one in the pipe. plus a speed loading flared bottom metal for the backup magazine for the late season "rabbit" hunting.

Very Close. It was 459 on the tag; with tax and phone sex with the feds it was 496 and some change OTD. They had a really nice 114 classic there. I was tempted but had to remind myself what I walked in for.

I didnt think you got it yet, SINCE YOU HAVENT POSTED ANY PICS YET!!!!

Which 4200 Elite? 8-32?...LOL

Does it take a standard SA base?

Long action picatinney style base. 4200 elite 2-1/2 to 10 from the 250AI project.

Standard long action base (round, round)....it's built on the 110 action.

My camo stocked version is sitting in the safe waiting for some glass. No need for extended mags here in IL. We can only have 3 shots total here in slug guns.

Yep, i'm pretty sure it's plastic. I'll have to check again but I'm almost positive it's plastic.

FYI, my bolt was dragging pretty bad near the end of the "opening stroke" last inch, inch and a half. When at the store I basically blamed it on the empty magazine, shame on me. At home I removed the magazine and still had a problem. Clearance is very tight at the back end of the receiver. When holding the bolt at the end of the knob it puts just enough side pressure on it to make it drag to the point where it's a problem. I slopped it up with some Ultra Brite and worked it for a good ten minutes. It's better now but the logo is gone and the black oxide is gone where it contacts the receiver. No big deal but it should not have been like that. I'm going to take it apart and polish the whole bolt body on my buffing wheel. I wasn't crazy about the finish on it anyway. Maybe I will get it jeweled or fluted eventually.

Pennsylvania game laws state "Full Magazine permitted for deer hunting" doesn't say it has to be a factory magazine ;)

Agreed but what can you do? Number one reason why I prefer to buy used face to face. But your not going to find a 220 F used for sale anytime soon in the hood.

I am hoping to get out and play with it soon but with another foot of snow on the way I'm not holding my breath. My only real beef so far was the "dragging" bolt issue. Problem is gone now that I polished the black finish off the bolt whatever it was. It slides pretty nice now. I may have to take the EGW mount back off and cut the first notch off of it. Either that or put the 4200 on something else and put one of my Leupolds on it. I cant get it back far enough as the bell of the scope hits the base before the eye relief is to my liking. By the way the 4200 Elite 2-1/2 -10 x 40 has nowhere near the eye relief of a leupold. I'm thinking if I cut it back to the second notch it may do the trick. Don't want to put higher rings on it. The mediums on it now are high enough for my taste.

shot it yet Ed?

My dealer called me a couple days ago just to give me a heads up he just put a camo model 220f on the rack. Nice guy aint he..LOL... He has 15 or so black modelas available too, but none on the rack yet. SO I am gonna stop by and fondle the 220 today I guess. Probably wont buy it yet...maybe.
He has also expanded his in stock scope line-up with a bunch of new Leupolds and a couple Bushnell Elite 3200's, in addition to all the Nikons he has. Didnt know it till yesterday but Nikon now has a 4-12x40 Pro-Staff for the same price as their 3-9x50 ones. Decent lower end scopes for the money.
