I have a question about the removal of the front sling stud from an accustock. I just brought a new gun home and took the stock off and noticed that the front stud is threaded into the aluminum on the stock. I don't like the stud to be in a rifle when shooting off the bench because it interferes with my front bag and messes up accuracy. Will removing the stud affect the ridgidity of the stock and affect accuracy? any help would be appreciated.

I don't know for certain, but if I felt that way I would grind it down flush to the stock. (rather than remove)

I can't see how removing the stud would hurt anything. At the same time, I have never had a stud hurt my accuracy off of a bag either.

Simply unscrew it when you are shooting off the bench. It won't have any noticeable effect on either rigidity or accuracy. When you are done shooting with a rest, screw it back in. If you grind it off, you can never go back.
