I am going to build a silhouette rifle using a Savage Precision Target Action. I am surprised that I have not been able to find any discussion of this action on this forum. If anyone has any experience with the PTA I would appreciate hearing any and all comments. One question I have is, does the PTA come with bottom metal (trigger guard) I am looking at a conventional single shot RB,RP. Is the action already drilled and tapped for scope bases? I am undecided whether I will build this rifle as a Hunter/Standard rifle or just go with a heavy (standard) class. Thanks in advance for any comments.

There are quite a few guys with target actions, I prefer mine fed by a drop box mag but that's just me. Good luck with the build!

I have three of them and they all came with hardware including the trigger guard.

I had SSS T&T them and put their SSS Evolution Trigger on them.

They work well for me. JMO
