The local shop got a bunch in, has anyone used it in .308 ?
never used this powder but it looks a lot like Varget

I can tell you in my 243 it has provided the best groups I have ever shot with light bullets, 70 grain or less.

I think a lot of long range guys are using it with 155's with a few using it for 168's. For some reason the 175's are not getting the speed for long ranges but it may work for you at your distances with that weight class bullet.

get some !!! 2950 m.v. Or more in 24" 5r with 155 scenars . Good for .223 allso . You will not be sorry !

I use it in .308 with good results. It seems to work better with bullets in the 130 to 168 range as previously suggested.

I've tried a boatload of different powders for the .308....I've always come back to Varget.

Actually I do have a few pounds of 3031 left over from my 30-30 days

I have also used CFE223 with very good results
Here is a handy chart to help choose substitute powders.

As always start at the beginning and work up when you change a component.

The 8208 worked well as so did 3031(fired 12 rounds each) Rifles not to picky so I`ll flip a coin

I have used IMR 4064 in the 308 for years with good results.
