Hi I'm new to the site, and I am considering a rifle to use in Factory Class for groundhog shoots. I see Dicks is selling a Savage listed as 11-VT I can't find it on the Savage web site. I called Dicks and they said it is made for Dicks only? One of my questons is what is the rate of twist .223 the guy at Dicks said it is not marked, considering that caliber I would think that would be important? Does anyone have any knowledge of the rifle I would imagine the accu trigger would not be the target model? thanks Bob

I purchased the 11VT in .223 a few months ago and shot it a few sessions.. It worked flawless and had sub moa at 100 yards with factory 100 Gr. Soft Point. I was able to consistantly hit in the center of an 8" steel plate at 200 yds. I did
replace the scope with another 4 x 12 made by Nikon. I also have the savage 11 Trophy hunter in .223 and that shoots
spot on also. Good luck if you purchase....

100 gr Soft Point?

Stand corrected. It was the Hornady 55gr. The 100 gr soft point was in my .243 Win. The 11vt is a keeper..

I'm really tempted I recently purchased an unfired Tikka T3 Varmint in .223 1-8 twist and cannot get ANYTHNG to shoot in it, talk about disappointed.

The last time we had a thread about this model people started arguing about the integrity of DSG and got the thread closed. Hopefully this one stays clean. I have this rifle in .308 and have done a few minor modifications to it. If you have any other questions feel free to pm me.
