I got 3700fps out of a 120gr 7mm RUM with no ill pressure signs and the barrel lasted about 500 careful rounds. I can't imagine how fast you could burn up a lazzeroni.

Thanks for the link Galveston.
How about info on Savage model 16 LZ in that caliber? I found a guy with one pretty cheap but they no longer have that gun so cant get the specs.

There are actually two 7.82 lazzeronis. Long (Warbird) and Short (Patriot) mags.

Make sure you know which barrel burner you're buying! No, I don't have any personal experience with them. Almost bought a Savage in the Patriot years ago, but didn't have the funds at the time. No real practical reason to have one, in hindsight, other than the novelty of owning something different than the pack.

Pretty sure its the patriot, not positive will check. I dont really have a need for one either just like you said want something different and would like something long range not that I would ever really hunt with it just want to be able to if I wanted to. I have a model 16 in 22-250 I know it will go the distance just thinking of a larger caliber. Never hurts to have an array of calibers. Just have an obsession with Savage rifles and odd ball calibers. Thanks for the tip on warbird and patriot though I had no idea about that, I'm fairly new to the rifle world, grew up a waterfowler.

I like odd savages, I have a 257 stw and a 7mm stw, I have thought about the lazzeronis many times but have never made one yet.
