I know I can order the screws from Boyd's, but the website wants $17.00 shipping for two screws. Is there a better place to find the longer front action screw? I have looked at both Midway and Brownell's with no luck.

I need a longer front one for the stock I just bought from Bowbrother. Hart in Nescopeck is 6 miles from me so I figured I would check with them.

I get my socket head 1/4X28 bolts at Lowe's and they're cheap! A slip of the brain, I meant True Value Hardware!

Our local lowes/home depot does not carry the correct tpi. I get mine at Ace hardware store, this is a big store in charlotte, not the average ace store...

I've had good luck with ace or auto parts stores. 1/4"-28 , thread.

If you contact our Sales Department directly (605-996-5011) we can place an order for you with $9.00 shipping, still a lot, but it beats $17.00 - $20.00!!

That's the problem boyds wants $17 shipping.

Fastenal, Grainger, McMaster-Carr, or other industrial supply houses all have 1/4" x 28tpi bolts/screws.
Most have mail order availability.
Fastenal will ship to local stores for free, IIRC.

To be fair, it's not Boyds that wants the $17. It's the shipping company's. I used to make sure I ordered $100 worth of stuff to "justify" the $15 shipping cost. Last week that $15 was up to $18.95. I'll just have to start ordering $200 worth! :-).... I'd say it is directly related to fuel cost. I'am also paying much more at the grocery store :-(
